Holly Hunter was an American actress, who gained fame due to her roles in films Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Holly Hunter won many awards which included her first Oscar for her film Piano. Early on she began performing on stage in various Broadway or Off-Broadway productions. When she was a kid, Helen Keller was her most loved character from a fifth year show. Following a bout of Mumps, she was deaf in one of the sides of her ear. But, it didn't stop her from pursuing her dream to become an actor. As a teenager she studied drama, and then moved into New York City. She was introduced to Beth Henley in an elevator and the pair collaborated on Broadway Crimes of the Heart the first movie Hunter made. Her first film role came following her move to Los Angeles. She has since appeared in a number of movies, television shows as well as movies throughout the span of a 30 year career. Holly Hunter won a star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame, as well as her Women in Film Lucy Award.
