Holly Hunter was an American actor who was famous for the films Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. The actress has received numerous awards for her work, including an Oscar. The path to acting began in Broadway by performing in a range of Broadway as well as Off Broadway productions. It has always been her obsession. When she was in fifth grade, she played Helen Keller in an original production. Mumps caused her to be deaf and blind in one ear, but she refused to let that hinder her progress as an actor. When she was a teenager She studied acting and then moved in New York City. She was introduced to Beth Henley in an elevator and the pair collaborated on Broadway Crimes of the Heart which was Hunter's debut film. The first time she appeared in a film was following her move in Los Angeles. Since then she has appeared in many shows and TV films throughout a span of over three decades. Holly Hunter won a star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame, in addition to her Women in Film Lucy Award.
